Each and every board is made to order and will take from one to three weeks to complete. It is well worth the wait to get a handmade board created especially for you.
Pachisi is a game that dates back to 4 AD and remains popular today. It has many name variations such as Ludo and Parcheesi. Parcheesi is the westernized version trademarked by American game makers, Selchow and Righter in 1874. It is currently trademarked by Hasbro Inc.
The cherry and maple woods that I use in my Pachisi Boards come from a local saw mill run by the coolest guy ever. I purchase the boards from Mike and then process the boards from rough cut to the beautiful boards I offer to the customer. I examine each and every wood plank looking for great fiquring in the wood grain that will translate to a stunning board.
I work with both maple and cherry, I find that the cherry laser engraves with a darker color and maple with a lighter color .
Please be aware that every game board is handmade and each board will be slightly different and unique.
The finished board is approximately 17.5 to 18 inches square and it is hinged in the middle to fold in half. This makes storage much easier. It comes with a duck canvas storage bag and wooden pawns in their own bag. It also comes with written instructions on how to play Pachisi.
They can also be engraved on the reverse for an additional fee.
